Professional Researchers

Since the staff of the Missouri State Archives cannot do extensive genealogical research by mail, the Friends of the Missouri State Archives sponsors a list of researchers to aid patrons who are unable to visit the Archives in person. The following individuals have expressed a desire to research in this area for a fee.

It should be clearly understood that this list is provided as a service for patron convenience, and does not constitute an endorsement of any of the researchers by the Missouri State Archives or the Friends. No guarantee of the quality of their work is made or implied. Arrangements must be made directly with the researcher, and any agreement entered into is a personal contract between two private parties and does not include the Missouri State Archives or the Friends of the Missouri State Archives.

If you have questions, please write or call (573) 526-1981. It is requested that a #10 business size, stamped, self-addressed envelope (SASE) be included with the initial inquiry to any researchers.

I have been self-employed in genealogical and family history research from 2005 to the present, although my interest and involvement in family history reach back to my childhood years. I have researched Missouri family history for clients located throughout the United States, including probate files; wills; African-American ancestry; birth, marriage and death records; census records; historical records; and other sources of genealogical information. For more than 10 years I was the director of a family history center in Jefferson City, Missouri, where I supervised staff, assisted patrons and taught genealogy classes.
